Contributor Guidelines

Technical requirements

Before submitting your pitches, please ensure that you meet the following requirements. We aim to share knowledge with our audience from subject matter experts in these areas. If you don’t meet the requirements, please refrain from pitching your ideas. We will NOT accept them!

We are exclusively looking for writers with hands-on experience or an educational background in the following areas:

  • Information Technology
  • Cybersecurity
  • Examples of subject matter experts we’re seeking include CISOs, IT Managers, Cybersecurity or IT consultants.

Content rules

  • Images: We will create a featured image with our branding. If you have specific data you’d like presented as an infographic, please provide the text and image ideas, and we'll explore designing an infographic with our branding.
  • Links: When referencing specific numbers, statistics, or data, please cite your sources by providing links to reputable sources. Do not include links to competitor (other IT management tools, MSPs, etc) product pages.
  • Pre-written Content: We do not accept pre-written blog posts. Please submit your pitch and wait to see if it is accepted before writing any content.
  • Promotional Content: We do not accept promotional content, such as mentions of products, services, or demos.
  • Plagiarism: All content is checked for plagiarism to ensure uniqueness. We do not accept AI-generated content. We seek content with first-hand expertise.
  • Editing Content: Our editorial team retains the right to make final edits. These edits may include the removal of promotional content, competing links, rephrasing, and the addition of category CTA buttons and links.
  • Research Topic: Please research our website to ensure the article topic hasn't already been covered on our blog.
  • Bio: Include a ~300-character bio along with your headshot (minimum square dimension at least 200x200 pixels). Emphasize your expertise in the topic.
  • Proofread Before Submission: We accept a maximum of two rounds of edits. If your piece requires more than two rounds of edits, we reserve the right to terminate the ongoing collaboration.
  • Publication Guarantee: Please note that we cannot guarantee publication.
  • Ownership of Submission: You agree that Electric will own all rights, title and interest in the materials and content you provide, which will be treated as a “work-for-hire” in consideration of the promotional opportunity to be featured on Electric’s blog. You represent that (a) any materials and content submitted by you will be original to you and that you have the right to grant us usage per these guidelines, and (b) the posting and use of your materials and content will not violate, misappropriate or infringe on the rights of any third-party, including, without limitation, privacy rights, rights of publicity, copyrights, trademark and/or other intellectual property rights.

Publication timeline

Anticipate the following timeline from topic approval to publishing: The full process, from topic approval to publishing on our site, may take anywhere from a few weeks to 3 months.
