Less than two months into a nationwide stay-at-home order and mass shift to working from home, Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey sent an email to Twitter staff, notifying them that they’d be allowed to work from home permanently. Albeit, jobs that require a physical presence would still be expected to come in.

While COVID-19 accelerated the arrival of the office of the future, the social media giant was already an early adopter of the remote work model. Andrew Sopko is the Head of IT at Twitter where he leads a global organization responsible for Enterprise Applications, End User Services, and Corporate Infrastructure. Andrew joined Twitter in 2013 with a focus on building business systems during a high-growth period for the company. Twitter’s IT organization is driven by the value they provide to the company based on the principles of innovation, business enablement, governance, and security.

Prior to joining Twitter, Andrew worked in a customer-facing role at Appirio following strategic leadership positions at Salesforce. He holds multiple patents in information systems and is ITIL certified with training in organizational development. Andrew received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
